    Dear Parents,

Thank you for encouraging your teen to participate in our Life Teen Harvest Workers service and retreat camp this summer! It will be a wonderful experience for the teens and a blessing to all those they will serve that week! In case you aren’t familiar with this event…Harvest Workers is a service and retreat camp for all incoming Freshmen through outgoing Seniors. Harvest Workers will help to reveal to the teens the needs of those around them, especially those in our own parish; in the world, and in our local community, and will provide tangible avenues for the teens to respond to those needs.  Through service, daily Mass, prayer, receiving the sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation, community building, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, they will come closer to a full commitment to live solely through love and for love.
On our website, you will find the permission form, a medical and photo release form (If we have one on file from a previous event, you do not need to turn in another on), a Camp Happiness release form, an Information Letter to Parents and Retreatants-including a list of what to bring, expectations, the July 10th XLT, and pick-up/drop-off schedule for this event being held at St. Helen July 7th – July 11th.  Every day/evening we have planned service, speakers, prayerful and fun activities that will help teens build community with one another, understand the church’s stance on social justice, and help them experience their catholic faith.  The teens will be performing service for elderly or ill parishioners, making and serving meals to some families in our parish, collecting food and toiletries for the Feed My Sheep ministry, serving the homeless or impoverished brothers and sisters in the larger cities of Cleveland, Akron, Painesville and Warren, and serving at a Health Care facility for the elderly.

And, if your teen needs service hours for school, he/she will be receiving a minimum of 20 hours during Harvest Workers!

The fee for this event is $100. Half is due by May 1, 2019 to secure a spot. Please submit the balance with all forms by June 1, 2019. This money will go towards meals and snacks for the week, gas for transporting the teens to/from various locations, speaker fees, giveaways, supplies, fee for large group social activity such as roller skating, putt-putt golf, etc., and t-shirts. Hurry! J Spots fill up quickly and there is usually a wait list for this blessed event!
