Interpreting
Fr Jay's homily
My
homilies are normally very complete outlines
When
something is underlined that means the word or phrase is to be repeated
It is repeated after every slash mark (-) in that sentence
Or it is repeated when the following symbol is in the text ^^^
When a side slash (/) is used the repeating stops
When
things are bracketed as follows [ ], it implies that this section is in
more of an outline form and is not word for word what was said in the
homily
There
are a number of things that appear in the text that are instructions for
how I am to say something. When words are italicized, it indicates that
I should change the inflection in my voice. When there is bold print I
should give the word or phrase more emphasis. When these brackets appear
{ }- those are usually gesture instructions for me - where to point or
how to say a particular phrase, etc.
When
something is highlighted in yellow, it means each word is said very distinctly
Occasionally
the following initials appear- "b, b, s, & d" (Body, blood,
soul, and Divinity) or "h, s, m, & st" (Loving God with
all our heart, soul, mind and strength)
MDP
= My dear people of God
